Astra outdoors is a mock project created to showcase and demonstrate our brand identity and logo development skills. The brand was started by two friends, Jacob and Matteo. With a passion for adventure and a lack of money, the pair began making their own gear and clothing in an attempt to explore the world on a budget. Thus Astra Outdoors was born. Astra wants everyone to have an adventure no matter their budget. Their product range caters to everyone, from professional explorers to weekend warriors.
Astra has streamlined their product range to focus on four main departments; general outdoor gear, camping, mountain biking and climbing equipment. They needed a way to differentiate each category from each other while remaining recognisable within the Astra brand. We have redesigned Astra’s logo and brand image to integrate all four sub-brands into a cohesive system, maintaining brand recognition while highlighting each category's uniqueness. We introduced a tailored color scheme for each section, creating a clear and visually striking differentiation across the product lines.
“Astra” derives from the Greek word aster, meaning star or celestial. Inspired by this origin, we designed a logo centered on a star, with the first letter "A" forming its top point. This star-letter combination differentiates each category: blue for camping, red for mountain biking, yellow for climbing, and grey for general outdoor gear.
